He will also get support from members of other parties both to the Tight and left. His personality and ability to go to the heart of things, avriding bombast .and bluster but dealing with matters that come before him in a businesslike way, placed him in a class by himself. The selection of Mr. Hanson is a fortunate one for the whole district as it is extremely -desirable that this new part of Canada should have representation that will bring xredit upon it. Much depends upon the member for the riding. JOIN IN THE CARNIVAL The Fair Board and the Junior Chamber of Commerce ihave arranged a carnival and flower show for the week .after next, the time that the many visitors from British and U. S. warships and planes are intown. To carry these through successfully they will need the support of the , .whole community. For that we in this country are grateful because it tends to put up the price of silver generally. Here seems to be an opportunity fqr Canada to help the mining industry and at the same time meet American competition by buying silver on this side of the boundary line. If American money is allowed to continue to dron in value in comparison with Canadian -money it will have a Toad effect on Canadian commerce. Already Mr. Bennett has annbunced that he will issue additional note currency which will tend to inflate Canadian currency. If he bought silver as well he would be carrying the policy a step further and would receive the lasting gratitude of the whole of Skeena electoral riding.
