Third Avenue H. T. PULLEN - - Managing-Editor Member of Audit Bureau of Circulations Saturday, March 10, 193-1 BOOKS AND MOKE HOOKS Owing to lack of funds the Prince Rupert Public Library is becoming out of date. It has none of the new books which would make it a representative institution. A large committee under the leadership of S. J. Jabour is asking for public subscriptions toward the library book fund, especially from those who use the books. The appeal is general and the results so far have been excellent. In the past new books have been purchased from monies placed at the disposal of the library board by the city. Last year the appropriation was sufficient only to pay the running expenses of the institution. No city funds were used for buying new books. There was no money to spare for such purposes. The aim of the campaign committee is to raise at least a thousand dollars and every citizen interested in maintaining the library and keeping it a live educational and recreational institution worthy of the citv is beiner asked to take part in raising this amount. The effort is a worthv one and snouici prove successtul. by labor, tor many years labor politicians have been in control of such districts as Poplar. Now the whole metropolitan district is under labor control. CHURCH NOTICES r s 4 i F!RST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Minister, Rev. W. D. Grant HoIIingworth, IIJV. Oreanist: Mrs. E. J.
