DR. HILL CAUSON ACE BAILEY The Injury to Ace Bailey of the Toronto Maple Leafs recalls a similar injury to another former Toronto plaj-er ln Dr. BUI Carson who suffered a slight fracture of the skull while in the uniform of the Toronto St. Pats. Curiously enough it was a .Boston defence man who cra.'hed Carson to the ice causing the Injury. Carson lingered ln major league hockey for another year or so after his injury, but he never came back. And that, it is feared, will be the result with Ace Bailey. Another case is that of Dick Irvin. Toronto coach, who was also laid low with a fractured skull, and never played much hockey after, although Dick claims he was too old anyway. The above photo was taken when Ace Bailey and Bill Carson were on the same forward line with the Maple Leafs years ago. FOOTBALL HEAD DIES CHALLENGE BY GURVICH Herbert Chapman. The leading car was a Ford V-8 Fordor. owned by the Socony-Vacuum and bringing up the rear was a V-8 Cabriolet which was driven by the Secretary of the Expedition. Included in the tour were a Chevrolet. Bulck. Oldsmoblle. LaSalle, Cadillac, two Pierce Arrows. G. M. c. truck, Studebaker. Pontiac. and other makes, as well as two Fords. It Ls Interesting to note that it was reported on the arrival of the caravan at Edmonton from the Peace River Country that the V-8's were the only units which made the round trip through mud without having to be towed. On a close check we find one of the V-8's travelled ten continuous hours ln low gear, the temperature never exceeded 140 degrees and gasoline consumption was one gallon to ten miles while running in low gear. All the other cars had boiling radiators and rcrjulred repeated additions of water. S.E. PARKER LTD. Ford Dealers Tlilrcl Ave. Kast
