According to official figures of thc International Fisheries Commission a total of 7.137.829 pounds of halibut have been landed on thc Pacific Cjoast from Area No. 2 up to thc end of April this year as compared with 7,294.793 pounds up to the same date last year. From Area No. 3 a total of 5,410.616 pounds has been landed as against 5,249,922 pounds last year. Of thc total taken from Area No. 2 this season so far the United States fleet was respon siblc for 4,119,778 pounds as com pared with 5,116.022 pounds In 1933 to the corresponding date while the Canadian fleet this year.so far had taken 3,018.051 pounds In compart son with 2,178.771 pounds. As for Area no. a me American fleet, as usual, has taken thc large bulk of the total, namely 5,279,029 pounds as compared with 5,107,567 pounds last year while the Canadian fleet has brought In but 131.537 pounds from the westwards In comparison with 142,355 pounds last year.
