Je Letter Box COLLECTIVE CONTKOL editor, Dally News: Your interesting editorial "Hitler and Germany" should wake up certain strata of sleeping politicians who think that all that is neces sary Is to turn out on election day. fs the education of thc youth and the re-education of themselves in line with thc modern trend of thoughts and action of no importance? Everyone must wake up and. rea lize that we are undergoing a moral as well as a political rcvolu tlon following the collapse of our economic system. The economic conditions of our country are such that the masses jarc exasperated and arc ready to listen to anythlng-evcn to Marxism although it is 84 years old and ob solete. The sponsors of the C. C. F. are trying to revive a dead philosophy, namely Marxism, which has served its great moral purpose the most complete critic of capitalism. For the Marxian class antagon ism, class clash, class struggle and hatred, the modern world substi tutcs co-operation of thc classes by bringing the forces of produc tion under the control of thc state which represents the spirit of thc people and Is the unique force to Interpret national society. Marxism, which has been a critl cal idea and proven non construc tive, conceived that, as the bour golslo overthrew thc feudal order consequently thc economic freedom of the workers could only come through the overthrowing of the j capitalistic system. Hence thc two conflicting methods of procedure, evolution versus revolution, which Is; the only fundamental difference between Communism and Socialism, Thc truth is that other methods have been found by which economic freedom :(nd social Justice aro rapidly being established by enforcing collective control over the means of production and exchange. One can readily see that ownership, cither public or private, when collectively controlled and bent to serve social needs, Is no obstacle to social' Justice.
