PUTTING IN TRAM LINE Lumber and Other Material Belnr Shipped From Vancouver For Stewart Mine William Dann. managing director of the Oold and Silver Mining Co. Ltd., Is a passenger aboard the Prince George today returning to 8tcwart after attending the annual general meeting of the company In Vancouver. Mr Dann told the meeting that about a month ago work was commenced on th? cutting of the right-of-way for the .aerial tram line. The tram was al- I ready on the ground and lumber t and heavy hardware and other I supplies would leave Vancouver In j a few days for ute in construction of terminals and warehouse. The lower" terminal of the tramline Is to be located on the Dear River road about two miles from the town of Stewart. The tram will be fl.300 feet In length with a single span. The portal of the tunnel Is 2.800 feet above the road. Work Progressing A compressor of 260 cubic feet, capacity operated by a 50 h.p. mo-1 tor together with steel sharpener and other equipment has been Installed at the mine and all buildings are electrically lighted. Powder and all supplies necessary to carry on work for the next two months arc at the mine. The main tunnel Is in 398 feet and an average distance of eight feet per day is being made. Two shifts are being I' worked. Reporting- on work which was .commenced on the propetty on Auaust 1 last.
