MacCallum of this city received the distressing news of the death at noon yesterday in hospital at Victoria, where he had asm rushed for an operation, of her father. Col. Gordon Baker. On Wednesday night Col. Baker was taken seriously ill and removed to hospital where an operation was to be performed yesterday. Col. Baker, although 74 years of age. had, apparently, been In good health and his sudden death came with shocking suddenness.
