Moving pictures of the remains of the strange marine creature are to be sent to Vancouver tomorrow. The sections of the body are again back In the formaldehyde vat. SpcculaUon Is rife among those Interesting themselves In the Identity of the creature as to whether or not It had ribs In life. An examination of the vertebrae discloses that there were, apparently, regular attachments of cartilage fitted into the spinal column and It is believed that the ribs may have been of cartilage. One local medical man expressed the opinion that It might have been an Immature creature which, had it lived; might have attained much greater size and that the cartllagenous ribs might have eventually hardened Into bone. This Is all, of course, speculation and is based on the assumption that It was a mammal rather than a fish.
