G. Large aboard their power cruiser Fusilier, members of the Gyro Club and their families, numbering 35 in all, enjoyed another happy annual picnic yesterday. It was a grand outing on the sandy shore of Tugwell Island under the ideal weather conditions of the day. Beach games were indulged In by old and young alike and there was an abundance of refresh ments. Joe Scott was in general charge of arrangements with Bill Stone and Charlie Balagno ably assisting. Departure was made about 11 pjn. and toy 9 pjn. return was completed. . The picnickers were Dr. and Mrs. R. G. Large and Peggy. Mr. and Mrs. N. 'R. Basic Recine For Ice Cream 2 cups milk. 2 tablespoons flour '. cup sugar 1 4 teaspoon salt 2 egg yolks Vn teaspoons vanilla 2 egg whites 2 tablespoons sugar Scald milk in top of doubl boiler. Blend together the flour, sugar and salt. Gradually add to scalded milk, stirring constantly untl mixture thickens. Cook 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Blend a few spoonfuls of the hot mixture with the beaten egg yolks and return to first mixture. Cook 2-3 minutes longer. Pour into a bowl, beat slightly, add vanilla and fold in egg whites, which have been beaten with tw? tablespoons sugar until stiff. Pour into freezing tray and freeze with temperature control set at coldest point until firm 2-3 hours. Cool. Add molasses and salt. Beat egg whites until stiff, add sugar, beating constantly until weli blended. Fold into cold molasses mixture; add neppermint. pour Into lea trav. Freeze to a mush. Turn Into chilled bowl and beat until smooth, return to tray. Freeze until firm. Six servings. Berry Sherbet 2 eggs V2 cup sugar 'i cup light corn syrup 2 cups cereal cream Va teaspoon salt 1 lemon 1V2 cups crushed berries 3 tablespoons sugar ' Beat eggs until light and colored. Add sugar; continuing to beat. Combine remaining Ingredients except the berries and sugar: add to egg mixturcT Freeze at low temperature in re frlgerator tray until just firm. Remove from tray, whip until lisht and add crushed berries to which sugar has been added. Pour mixture back into freezing tray and freeze until firm, about 3 hours. Garnish with whole berries.
