No doubt this is largely responsible for the undiminished enthusiasm of lis mem-r bershlp and the broad and comprehensive sphere of its usefulness. Has Played Important Part in City Since Early Days; First and Present Officers Organized on July 1, 1914, the Prince Rupert Pioneers' Association since that time ha's played a consistently important part in maintaining the traditions of the good old early days in Prince Rupert and in recording the history of this community since its inception. With the co-operation of the Junior Section of the Prince Rupert Chamber of Commerce, the Pioneers' Asso-k elation is responsible for the spe- cial celebration this year of the twenty-fifth anniversary celebra tion or Silver Jubilee of the incor First Civic Election Held on May 19, 1910 While March 10 is the actual anniversary of Prince Rupert's incorporation, it was not until May 19, 1010, that the first election was held. Old timer still recall it as the hottest political fight ever waged in this town. Fred S'ork was elected mayor in a keen contest with William Manson who the next year defeated the late Frank Moblcy to become the city's second chief magistrate.
