KING DO? When Prime Minister Bennett retires and is succeeded by IU. Hon. W. L. Mackenzie King, it would be a matter of ordinary courtesy for Mr. King to recommend to the King that Mr. Bennett be given a title. But Mr. King does not believe in the granting of titles and has expressed himself as opppsed to the Bennett relapse intc the old system. Evidently he will have to lay himself open to a charge of discourtesv to a worthy opponent or he will have to go back on his word to the Canadian people. The only hope of the present Prime Minister getting a title seems to lie to his retiring before the election takes place and allowing his Conservative successor to nominate him or to wait until after the election, then retire to England and pos sibly receive a title on the recommendation of the British prime minister. Evidently if Mr. Bennett wants a titlo it is up to Mr. Mackenzie Kine to make an exception in this case and to advise His Majesty that the last Canadian title should go to Richard Bedford Bennett but that, hereafter, the Cana dian people are opposed to the granting of artificial distinctions of this kind. MANY PARTY GOVERNMENT An example of many-party government which has made the country a laughing-stock of the world is seen in France, where one government after another tumbles with remajkable rabidity. Under such a system there can be n.o continuity of policy or action. No sooner does ar administration get under way than it is voted out of office by some combination of parties. This has been going on for years and there seems no ray of light for the fu ture. GROTTO TAXI 456 Three Cars at your service. Bert Morgan Bud Barric dkflteBiBBMBI BgBBBjB mop. The game was a heavy hitting affair with frequent errors. The Elks opened the scoring with a pair of runs In the first Inning with no response from the Sons of Canada until the third and fourth when they collected seven counters. In these two Innings the Elks' outfield seemed to be stuck to the ground and could not reach the numerous files in time to snag them. In the first of the fifth Ue Brother Bills hammered in three runs but to no avail for the Sons went on another spree in their half of the fifth and garnered four more counters, thereby sewing up the game. Rookie Den Amey started on the slab for the Elks and hurled a fair game but. during that tragic fourth Cqmadlna was forced to relieve him. Jack Lindsay did the mound dutv for the Sons aYid pitched a good game- Comadlna. was the heavy hitter of the game, poling out a three- bagger in the second frame.
