Then came the depression, and nothing was done for several years until recently when arrangements were made for a room over thte public library and the Hyde coU lection was secured. Since that time great interest has been taken in the collection of exhibits and many additions thereto have been made. During the past month more articles than ever before in .a given time were donated and the exhibit is steadily being improved by this means. The institution has become a permanent one and is being recognized as a valuable asset to the city. I SPORT CHAT i The eastern Canadian football public has become convinced tha all the east's touchdown eggi aa in one basket. That Is the basket being toted so carefully in Mont-, real by John Ferraro, the Buffalo bear-cat. So established on pipei is the strength of Ferraro's Mont real Indians, so certain is iheix i superiority on paper, that it I seems almost Inevitable the In-Idians will win the Big Four championship away from Hamilton and-represent the east in the Canadian final. Toronto Argonauts are young and inexperienced, the Tigers havei lost the mighty Ferraro and Frank Turvllle, Ottawa, Is without the great Abe Eliowitz and Saxnia'r-OJt.F.U. champions, can expect no help from the flashing Nornw.u Perry or the nimble curler and golfer, Alex Hayes. Where eastern football race-: have been traditionally open near .1 ly always, at least in the advance conjecturing, this time th In dians get a unanimous call from all corners. They .have been bull., as champions In advance. A half-dozen outrtanding tars are in the lineup. What eastern team has a chance? The answer is they all have a chance. A backiield that includes two such triple-ithreaters -is Ferraro and Eliowitz may not click for several seasons. They're both field leaders and only one can lead this seacon. Oke OLsen, brought east from Reglna Rough-riders to play quarterback, is also a field general. Olsen, however, will figure more as a ball-handler and passer than a' thinker under Ferraro. But the array of backfield: 'talent is siaiuing, 10 say tne least, and the line can't be -anything but powerful with Pete Jotkus. Tommy j Burns and George P,igeonv -in it ijoikus ana Burns are only slight ly less efficient defensively than tn grinding holes through oppose ing winglines. Anyway, dark-vis aged Joohnny Ferraroo has the known talent at hlscommand and the Buffalo bov from .nornpii i batting 1.000 to rjate in the Big Four. He piloted Tigers to the title in 1934, his first season in the Canadian game, and inspired the Hamilton forces to win again last season when he played under Fred Veafle.
