Later he picked up the Vancouver World whenjmgh school vs. Annettes, Scythians it was almost out of business and made it again prosperous. When the World was sold Mr. Nelson devoted most of his time to free lance writing until his talents were recognized by the Sun Life Assurance Co. and he went to Montreal and undertook the work of director of public relations for that company until the time of his death. Mr. Nelson was closely allied with the prohibition campaign near the end of the war. He became president of the Rotary Club at Vancouver and after his removal to Montreal became president of Rotary International and prior to that was a delegate to the Pan-Pacific Conference, His sympathies were always with the advocates of peace and temperance. A Conservative in politics, a great deal of his life was spent in connection with Liberal newspapers and Liberal movements. He was one of the organizers of the Canadian Press and served as a director of that Canadian news-gathering organization on several occasions. He was always an exponent of clean journalism, worked hard for the building up of the west and its institutions and even after moving to Montreal did not allow the big city to smother his talents. As a boy he delivered newspaoers and he insisted that his sons start their commercial life in the same way. Always a Canadian, he had ereat visions of the future of his country and helped to build it on solid foundations. Scythians vs. Legion, High School vs. Grotto, Jr. Moose vs. High School.
