The Left is opposed to the deflationary methods of past governments and has a variety of schemes for a planned economy. It opposes the Dower of financial interests and proposes to check big business, lay ing hands on the Bank of France, an Institution privately controlled, and nationalizing the arms in dustry. The Right charges th$ policies of the Left would result in Inflation an event sincerely dreaded by the French who suffered heavily in 1928 when the franc 'was stabilized at one-fifth of Its pre-war value. Foreign policy with the German re-occupation of the Rhine takes a much more Important place in the coming elecUon than in other years, ine ueu cnarges me lune permitted Hitler to disregard the League and Locarno.
