It is said that New Yorkers are the most ignorant people in the world, because they know almost nothing of what lies a fe"v miles beyond Broadway. So Vancouver, as reflected by its newspapers and the speeches Of its public men seems to consider the rest of the country only in the light of how it can benefit that great and progressive city. It is 'claimed that Prince Rupert also sins in the same manner. While objecting to the attitude bi Vancouver she forgets that smaller neighboring communities look to her for a lead and they find that Prince Rupert people and papers consider everything in its relation to the prosperity of their city. Evidently it is the attitude df every city. Undoubtedly it is not the proper attitude "but is fostered by the boards of trade and business people. The newspapers through their frequent and close affiliation with the business interests become imbued with similar fallacies. What is needed is a broader outlook on the Dart of all with a proper appreciation of what each community is doing and the part it plays in the work of building up the Canadian nation.
