March 26: Last Thursday evening a very pleasant surprise was given the Rev. Bishop Black BJV., B.D., when the people of the community gathered together at the Manse. Games and other amusements led successfully by B. Munro and G. H. Jollif fe . were enjoyed by young and older people until a late hour. Later delicious refreshments were served by the ladles present and prizes were distributed to the successful contestants. Over forty people gathered from all over the district, representing both Queen Charlotte and Skidegate. Others expressed their regret at unavoidable causes preventing them at tending. Perhaps it Is a long time since the Manse resounded with so many happy voices as the crowded guests jostled each other as they passed from room to room. Certainly the minister was pleased with the Joy ous spirit displayed by all present. Romance 6 melody1 JULES LANDF-4r trtr. v ST.
