Atlas-Imperial diesel engine installed at Seattle to replace a 50 h.p. gas engine. Capt. Edwin Eliasen, owner and skipper of the Pioneer III, now expects to be able to make eight and a half miles per hour with the vessel, a mile and a half more than he was getting Supplies of fresh herring bait for the halibut fleet are reported exhausted at Elk Bay near Juneau, Alaska, leaving Craig and Nanalmo the only places on the coast at which fresh bait Is now available. All ports on the coast, with the exception of Petersburg, have ample supplies of frozen bait. Union steamer Catala, Capt.
