NOT GOING WELL Evidently the war in Ethiopia is not going well with the Italians. According to dispatches there have been re verses both in the north and south and there has been a revolt in Libya. And yet Ethiopia is but a little country inhabited by people whom the Italians said were uncivilized. If Mussolini ever gives himself time to think, he-must regret that he ever forced the war and defied the other nations of the world. CONSUMERS NOT CONSIDERED Under most of the plans for fixing prices and limiting production, the point of view of the consumer is not considered. Yet the consumers are the big mass of the people whose interests Should be paramount. That is one reason why the people of the United States are becoming tired of the business codes. The group of industrialists acting as a unit fix a price for their product and limit the output, thus enabling them to pay better wages but they have no thought of the consumer who is not connected with any of the codified industries and whose livelihood is affected adversely by every rise in price. Whenever arbitrary action is taken the consumers have a right to be consulted as well as the producers. It is an advance over the ordinary conception of democracy but it is reasonable.
