Midnight Matinee Enjoyable Affair Capitol Theatre Was Well Filled For New Year's Event The Capitol Theatre was well filled on Tuesday night for the special New Year's Eve midnight matinee. The program included mirthful vocal and instrumental music by the Capltollans .concert party under the direction of H. N. Brocklesby and selections by the Prince Rupert Boys' Band under the direction of Bandmaster Robert Greenfield, featuring a brass quartette. There was also a special program of pictures and, at midnight, after the singing of "Auld Lang Syne," the drawing for seven cash prizes was conducted with Manager D. G. Borland in charge. Decorations were-a feature, these including special illumination, there being no vel flashing lights for the old year and for the new. Elks' colors were used in the decorative scheme. Just before midnight favors and noisemakers were distributed and pandemonium, broke loose as the .old year passed out and the new was ushered in. All joined Hand.-and sang "Auld Lang. Syne." The affair was staged by George Peters, exalted ruler, and retiring Officers. Sam Joy was master of ceremonies and Walter Johnson and George Lambert presided at the door.
