The park commences at the back of the firehall and extends along the ejistery side of Eraser Street to the Salvation Army citadel. Old buildings there are being demolished, paths are being constructed, underbrush cut and it is understood that it is planned to have a small pond with a fountain in one corner. Native trees that are an ornament to the landscape are being preserved and shrubs and flowers will be planted and very soon the city will have another beauty spot where formerly there was nothing but old shacks and refuse dumps. Any people who might have been inclined to be critical of the- proposal to establish a park at this point should give the place an inspection before expressing an opinion. If the work goes on as it is going, the result should be one of the finest assets the city has.
