Today's Weather She IS UP TO PROVINCE ; Dominion Government lias No 1 Intention of Entering Health I Insurance Field VICTORIA, Jan. 2: The Dominion government has no in-teniion of entering the health insurance field, according to an important statement issued today by Hon. Dr. G. M. Weir, provincial secretary. Dr. Weir stated that it had been the concensus of opinion at the recent Dominion-provincial conference that health insurance was a matter for the provinces and not for the Dominion to undertake. This view was held stron;ly by the members of the federal cabinet. "Results of our discussion on this point," continued Dr. Weir, "are most important for Itritish Columbia for they make it perfectly clear that we have no reason to delay health insurance in this province In the hope of Dominion action. At the same time the federal government should be encouraged to supplement provincial, effort in matters of public. , health."
