The general opinion seems to be that the Hornby plan is sound in principle, meets all objections to assisted immigration and would lead to a constant stream of immigration from the Old Country to Canada with very little cost to Canada. Jt ;has been pointed out that some of Canada's ,best citizens .come from countries outside the British Empire. With that we agree but we still think we can absorb a large number of British people who are willing to settle on the land and use the vacant areas of which Canada has plenty. A bold immigration policy to place people on the land or to rehabilitate those who have not made good in the dried out areas would, we feel sure, be a popular policy.
