The total landings at Prince Rupert for the week were 527,000 pounds, bringing . the aggregate for the season up to and Including yesterday to 1,179,100 pounds as compared with 693,100 pounds at a similar date last year. The Canadian total for this year j to to date date Is Is 655.300 655.300 pounds pounds in in com com - 1 parison witn 454.800 pounds at a corresponding date last year while so far this season American vessels have brought in 523,800 pounds as against 238,300 pounds last year. As a result of the heavy landings all along the coast, prices dropped off further during the week, striking the extreme low of 5.5c and 5c for Canadian fish and 6.5c and 5c for American. For Canadian fish the top price of the week was 7.4c and 5c which the J. R, was paid for 7,000 pounds while the highest price for American fish was 8.5c and 5c which the Sherman received for 15,000 pounds. An interesting situation has now arisen, due to the bunching of first- season trips, whereby it Is said that only two Canadian boats can be expected to land catches here during the next week.
