Natives Taking- Out Poles This Year on Skeena KITZEGUKLA, April 26: Matthias Wesley closed his pole camp at Skeena Crossing last week. They expected to float their last lot down the Skeena River on Saturday. Wesley has had a very successful season, having cut over 22,-000 lineal feet a Week during the winter. During floating operations he had an unfortunate loss last week when a boom of poles struck a rock and a number were iftst. The poles are being floated down the Skeena and Will later be sold to the Hanson Timber & Lumber Co. Many of the Skeena River na tives' have been engaged in this Industry during the winter. Among others were Moses , Jones, Arthur Howard. Thomas Brown and Jo seph Wesley of Kitzegukla'. All the camps are now practically closed down.
