The Premier. Speaker and Government Critic are elected by the previous Parliament. These boys, or I should say, young men, meet for the following purposes: . "1. .To strengthen and deepen their' o'wn lives in the Christian work In which they are engaged by having fellowship with other boys and leaders, who are engaged In the same work. -fc2. To help them become more effective in challenging and winning the youth of B.C. to the cause of Christ "3. To give intelligent Ieadershin l in the formation and execution of t plans with which to carry on the fourfold program among the boys pf the province. "Those are the three reasons for holding parliament to strengthen the members own lives and to enable them to pass that strength oh to others and to plan the work for the groups for the coming year. Daily Programs "A brief resume of our daily program was as follows: "Every morning at 9:30 there was a general caucus of all mem bers at which meeting the various leaders spoke to us on rules of procedure, etc. Also at this meeting one of the older boys led us ina devotional service. "Following that meeting the boys were split up Into groups for Bible study under very capable leadership. In these groups we dis cussed the topic Why. four Gospels? which dealt with the different con ceptions of the life of Jesus of the four men. Matthew. Mark. Luke. John. Each boy came prepared for discussion on that subject and you can imagine what an eager group they made up, seeking to tret all ithey could out of the discussion. Every boy was keyed ud with ear nestness and resolve while learning of the Saviour. "Just before noon there were legislature committee meetings in wnich members prepared by discussion the legislations that were to be brought before the House in the evening when the sessions were held. Here again the members were split up Into several, groups to work on the different "resolutions. "In the afternoon all bm met at the Y. M. C. A. where new ideas were given to us on hobbies and games, etc. which we could bring oacic 10 our groups. "Returning to the bulldines an apen forum was held where the oys were free to discuss any problems pertaining to bovs' work or otherwise such as sexual retation- mips and world peace, etc. "One most important auestion fateh arose was the question of fiberch attendance why the boys 3onl attend church and why they term uninterested and no matter from what angle we took these questions we found that the home was the central problem In the discussion of church relations. It is in the home and from their parents that the boys and girls receive their first Ideas and Impressions. It Is in the home where their opinions are created and there is' where a right attitude to the church should be taught. "We cannot expect boys and girls to understand the different functions of the church without having a knowledge of what they stand for. Education Is needed in church traditions and In church practices, the same as it Is in any other phase of our life, and this should not be left to the Sunday School teacher for it is in the home that these can best be taught "In the evenings regular sessions of the House were held where the resolutions were put before the Assembly, were thoroughly debated "TILLIE THE TOILER" I TOLD rtJU VD BREAK OFP OUR EVlfaAQEMEMT P tXJ bldrJ'T LET HAE VDUB SViEEP 05,BJT SAID THAT '4 iff.
