Contract rates ‘ining 160 acres, mote or land, occupation AN EXPRESSION OF CONFIDENCE IN RUPERT The sale of section two property evoked the best expres- sion of confidence in the future of Prince Rupert that has yet been shown. Sentiment in the mouths ofthe multitude is often a cheap thing, but there is always sincerity in the act of the real estate purchaser who planks down his dol- lars and lets them speak his mind for him. The satisfactory prices received and the continued stiff- ening of the market during the sale showed that the market was not keyed up by momentary excitement or passing en- thusiasm. They also afford an excellent basis of comparison of the values of properties in the inner sections—a compari- son that cannot fail to increase the confidence of investors in inside property and result in an enhancement of values. It is understood that the prices received exceeded by a considerable amount those expected by the vendors. To- wards this the gentleman selected as auctioneer undoubtedly contributed in good part by the confidence he inspired and the unquestioned satisfaction he gave the audience from day to day. It would be a graceful and popular act for the rail- way company to recognise his exceptional service by a pre- sentation such as that suggested at the close of Saturday’s sale. IN TABLOID DOSES The progress and the safety of the city is being delayed for lack of electric power. New machinery for the electric light plant has been ordered, but no transformers, and furth- er delays will take place after January when the machinery is hoped to be installed. The Council should consider at once the advisability of purchasing transformers and arrang- ing to instal a day load for power users at the earliest date. The McNamara Bros. have “told the truth to save their lives” according to their attorneys. punishment quickens the conscience of the coward. A few months ago they didn’t care a rap either for truth or for other men’s lives. PIO ! = It Is The Trained Man or Woman Who Rises to the Top of the Ladder!
