Mary Pickf ord Marries Rogers HOLLYWOOD, June 28: -Mary Pickford and Buddy Rogers were married here Saturday afternoon. It was Miss Pickford's third marriage and the first marriage for Rogers. The couple left for Honolulu on a honeymoon trip. Constable D. W. Taylor, provincial police, returned to the city on the Catala yesterday afternoon from a brief trip to Vancouver on escort duty. O. D. E. Given To School Pupils The presentation of the prizes donated by Hill 60 Chapter, impcr lal Order of the Daughters of the Empire, for the pupils of the gra duating class of the Booth Memor lal School was made Friday by Miss E. A. Mercer, the principal, the usual formal ceremony having been dispensed with owing to the early closing of the schools. The prize for the leading pupil of the entrance to high school exa mlnatlon amounting to $5 was awarded to Joyce Keilback. The prize In English was awarded to Anne Wlnslow, the prize In Canadian history to Bobby Capstlck and In British history to Helen Docdor. Miss Mercer spoke of the valuable assistance given to the schools through the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire by their constant encouragement of Imperial principles. These prizes were a tangible indication of that Interest and she was sure that, on that account, the pupils would value them even mpre. The pupils -Indicated their appreciation by hearty applause. At Borden Street School Canadian history prizes at Borden Street School were presented by Queen Mary Chapter, I. O. D. E., to Eleanor Clapp and James Stuart, The bursary of $10 awarded to the most proficient student of the year 1936-37 was won by Eleanor Clapp. Women's Labor League Whist Drive-Dance A whist drive and dance was held in the C. R. steamer Princess Alice arrived in port at 8 o'clock this morning from Vancouver, sailing three and a half hours later for Skagway and other northern points when she will return here Saturday afternoon southbound, The vessel had a total list of 146 Six disembarked here while a similar number went aboard at this port.
