A. Charter.! who is leaving here, was the reel-, pient of a beautiful morocco wallet neatly "stuffed" with 145 crisp ! dollar bills as an expression of ap-1 preclation and goodwill of the people with whom he had been as-J sociated for the past seven years. A large crowd was present including members of the various church organizations from other districts. The evening commented with parlor games which all enjoyed. Mrs. Hill and John Karple were in charge. A short musical program followed in which Miss Holt. Miss Weaver of Skidegate Mission, Mrs. G. Pitt Turner of SlUdegate, Mrs.- A. Duval, Mrs. Gordon H. Jolliffe and George Anderson of Queen Charlotte City took part. Gordon H. Jolliffe occupied the chair. The program was much enjoyed. Community singing followed after which the chairman explained the purpose of the Catherine and paid a deserved tribute to Dr. and Mrs. Charter for the faithful services rendered by them to the communities as far north as Port Clements. A letter was read from the chair addressed to Dr. and Mrs. Charter signed by Mrs. Thomas Crosby as president of the Skidegate Mission Ladies' Aid Society xpressing appreciation and gratitude to them both for the keen Interest they have taken in the people at Skide gate Mission. Pitt Turner, president of the Queen Charlotte City Ladies' Aid Society, and Matthew Williams or Skidegate Mission also SDoke of the high esteem in which Dr. and Mrs. Charter are held by the peo ple on the Queen Charlotte Islands.
