Letters of thanks from the recipients of Christmas hampers were very appreciative. The Christmas dinner for single ex-service men was attended by thirty and they enjoyed the treat very much Additional to routine business was the consideration of the final report of the Veterans' Assistance Commission. This Is a very exhaustive statement of the case. A complete brief made out by the Dominion president of the Legion, General Alex Ross, accompanied the report. The correspondence was turned, over to the standing committee who will examine the report and report to the next monthly meeting. Members of the committee are C. V. Evitt, W. M. Brown. H. A. Breen, W. Wilson, G. J. Dawes and J. S. Wilson. Action will be taken to ensure that a proper proportion of ex-service men will be employed In connection with the building of the local post office. The contractors have, already stated that they are anxious to use the full quota of ex-service men as laid down by gov ernment regulations. ; Following the business meeting the members enjoyed a display of' moving pictures through the court-1 esy of H. F. McLeod. Three films depicted local scenes. There were also pictures taken at Babine and . neighboring points and a colored 1 series of Honolulu.
