Mrs. Elstermann had been In fail-' ing health for several years and of late her condition had become quite serious. Death was not unexpected. Member of - one of the leading native families of the Naas Valley. Mrs. Elstermann was born seventy-five years ago at Gitlakdamiks. the daughter of the late Chief and Mrs. James Woods. Forty-seven years ago she was married to Frederick William Bernhardt Elstermann von Eister. a member of the nobility of Germany who had come to this coast as a sailor. For some: time they lived at Morse Cove. In' 1914 they went to Lawyer Island where the late Mr. Elstermann became lighthouse keeper, remaining there for seventeen years until 1921 when they went to Refuge Bay and fook up land. The family home had been there since that time. Mr. Elstermann died in the Prince Rupert General Hospital April 21. 1934. Deceased leaves one daughter. Mrs. M. A. Dewhurst of Seattle, who was here recently, and one son. Frederick W. B. Elstermann of Jap Inlet. The late Mrs. Edward Hudson of Prince Rupert, who died several years ago, was another daughter There are eight grandchildren Leslie Hudson of Prince Rupert, who brought the remains of his grandmother in on the boat Elida: Percy Hudson of Prince Rupert Walter Hudson of Jap Inlet; Edith Hudson of Prince Rupert; Mrs. W P.
