Objectors are asked to state their reasons against such a proposition. My objections arc based upon the fact that I am part of the Dominion government, which proposes to make this guarantee. I object for the reason I that the government thus av Uumes the same liability as would be the case were they making the loan, and because the Dominion tovemment Is not receiving ana of the benefits subposed to accrue In the way of Interest. These bonds, or guarantees, art also part of the national debt ana Jte-national debt Is a mortgagt! uJon my property, as well as tht iy' In -the city ' of Prince Rupert. Should the city borrow dil money directly from the Dominion, and pay the Interest to me uomimqn, i would nave no objection whatever to the proposed bond Issue. At this time I mlsht also stale my objections to., ahi paying a salary to the Oovemct of the Dominion ,Bank. It appean o me that his salary should be Tald by the people whose Interest ne appears to be more Interested n than in the interest of Ca adlan taxpayers. When Mr. Towers nakes the" statement: "The national debt of Canada Is an asset to the country." It seems that hh ervlces to the people of Canada j nre net sufficient to warrant theli oayln? him the large salary he now receives. This Is also, the more hard to1 understand in view of the fact that for many years, our capital' its have been bemoaning the fact that the country is going com pletely to the dogs because of the ( Dominion debt, and the C. N. R. deficit. Howver, now that thl Dominion debt is an "asset" and the Canadian parliament are seri dusly thinking of making another tjresent to the C. P. R, out troubles may be solved at last? This calls for more objections on my part. Why are we paying Par- hold ideas similar to Mr. Toners It seems rather hopeless as we . i . . . . . Therefore, there seems little proD- abillty that there" will be an end to the waste of a million dollars needlessly, every day, as long as everyone Is satisfied. U. T.
