MAPLE LEAFS ARE WINNERS (Defeat Beavers Four Goals to Nit For Initial Victory in King Edward Football League In a regular fixture of the King Edward School Football League the Manle Leafs recorded their first victory by defeating the Beavers four coals to nil. The game was more keenly fought out than the score would indicate. Both teams played better as far as keeping their positions was con cerned. Sunberg kept a good goal in spite of being beaten three times and brought off one very fine stop from Wilson. Frank Warne showed up well at back and is a promising player. Prince, at centre half, play ed his usual strong game and George Haugan was good- E. Pierce played very hard but got little1 support. D. Scherk and Aki Kuwahara were the best of the forwards and Menzies was dangerous. Owens was good when he got the ball. Joe Hogan again kept a good goal and Brocklesby and Alex Mcintosh were very sound at back. Gomez Hamilton and Stacey were safe In the half back line.
