There are people who evidently sympathize with the Germans though it is very difficult to understand the mentality of such persons unless they happen to be of German origin and with a strong national bias. So far as we know there is no subversive organization in the city and those who are opposed to the war are usually keeping their own counsels. Just now there is a wave of feeling sweeping the British Empire against any who are not loyal to the Empire in this time of crisis.
