A banquet and reception was held In his honor Monday night and on Tuesday he met the people of Fort Essington at a general meeting when various matters of community interest were discussed. Certain explanations were made and the discussions proved satisfactory to all parties concerned. Delay in the reconstruction of the road and seawall, It was explained, had been due to lack of estimates from the previous year. On arrival, Mr. Olllett was receiv ed by Edward Bolton and directed to the Caledonia Hotel where he lodged for the night. Later he proceeded to the Essington Band Hall where the reception banquet was held. President Mark Bolton delivered an address of welcome and Chief L. L. Starr spoke on behalf of the people. Other speakers were Matthew Wesley, president of the Essington Concert Band, and Rev. Mr. Rutherford. In reply, Mr. Olllett expressed appreciation for the welcome and assured all that he would do everything in his power for the betterment of the native people. There were selections by the band conducted by David Spalding, including an overture dedicated to the guest of honor. A dance followed the banquet.
