Brocklesby of Phase of War Effart Here Speaking before the Prince Rupert Gyro Club at luncheon yester day. Dr. H. N. Brocklesby saw ne was glad to feel that he might oe doing something constructive in way of a war effort in working upon the development of Vitamin A so that It might be made practically available In connection with adjustment of eyesight to night blindness and war conditions, particularly as regards air force gunners, navigators, observers, machinists, etc. Under war conditions, the rectifying of Vitamin A deficiency had become a problem of importance. To devise means of making Vitamin A economically available was the aim of a great deal of study and research whkh was now going on and in which the speaker himself was engaged. Sources of Vitamin A in Canada, were being investigated as well as economic production methods, means of concentration and stabilization. Dr. Brocklesby. in opening, referred to the eye as an instrument of warfare. No instruments based on the development of the primary eyesight could be more perfect than the function of the eye Itself, declared Dr. Brocklesby as he discussed the physiology of the eye. and its functions.
