Dr. R. G. Large. The plans call for a two-storey structure to be erected at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and McBrlde Street. The dimensions -would be 110 by 100 feet. The lower floor would contain a gymnasium floor measuring 96 by 59 feet with ceiling height of twenty feet. This woud be particularly adaptable for the playing of basketball and, with a stage, could also be used for theatricals and meetings. The lower floor would have a secondary hall which could be used for badminton and would insure a venue always being available for gymnasium purposes. This second hall would have a ceiling height of fourteen feet. Entrance, dining room and kitchen would be contained in a wing. Dressing rooms offices and other adjuncts are adequately provided for. While an estimate of $50,000 has been placed by the provincial architect, the committee took the view that it would have to reduce that figure in some way. Amendments to the plans were suggested and are being forwarded to Victoria. Dr. Large and members nf 1 the committee plan to Journey to Anyox soon to ascertain If anything may be salvaged from the old gymnasium. Officer Transferred From Pr. Rupert Corp.
