fatigue,
no
leave,
bitter
cold
hours
on
duty,
complete
exhaustion
at
the
end
of
it

to
bracing
oneself
continually
against
the
swift
movement
at
the
turning
twisting
naval
craft

In
1917
this
stem
lence
ended
with
his
being
blown
up
when
the
"Attack"

convoy

the

Commodore
Reld's
service

to
the
outbreak
ot
the
present
war
alternated
between
missions
with
the
Royal
Navy
and
commands
ln
Canada,
including
a
turn
with
Naval
Intelligence,
Ottawa.
In
command
of
H.
M.
S.
Sepoy
in
1929,
he
became
one
of
the
first
Canadian
officers
'o
command
a
British
destroyer.
There
was
Royal
Staff
College
in
England
in
1932,
and
then
Reid
became
staff
officer
on
the
"War-spite."
In

he
was
in
charge
of
Operations
and
Training
at
Headquarters.
