The publication disclosed that retailers placed 24,438,523 lines of advertising in newspapers of 85 major cities in the latest week compared with 24,438,523 a year earlier, a gain of 4.2 percent. For the year to date, volume amounted to 978,110,381 lines, an increase bf 3.4 percent over the year ago total of 945,616,422.
