He will be assisted 'by Gertie Wepsala, former Canadian women's champion, according to Major Fred Brewster, noted mountain guide i and outfitter of Jasper, who is visiting Winnipeg for a few days. Major Brewster stated on arrival (here that snow conditions in the Maligne area were perfect and many fine ski experts already had been in this winter. "There is much increased interest in skiing in the Rockies and In a year or so I predict it will be the popular Mecca for experts from all parts of the continent;. Reservations made for late winter and early spring parties more than prove this." he said. There will be two .special 6kl parties from Winnipeg in March and Apri as well as two parties al-, ready booked from the Edmonton area, and one from Vancouver. The Toronto ISkl Club have organized a party for the early spring skiing. In addition to the above, many individual reservations have been made item -Chicaso. New York Philadelphia and Boston. Many of the inquiries, Major Brewster stated, are from people who have been accustomed to spend their skiing holiday In Europe and he is confident that once "they spend a skiing holiday in the Canadian Rockies, they will continue to ski oh this continent even after the war: One question asked by most of the eastern skiers is regarding fog conditions. In Europe and even in the Eastern States considerable fog is encountered, -whereas in the Canadian Rockies there, is absolutely no fog, due to the dry atmosphere. There is also an abundance of dry powder snow which makes skiing ideal.
