Hugn Dobson, secretary of social service, on social service and evangelism lauded the action of federal gov ernment aiming at the elimination of segregated districts. Supporting his case by medical testimony and an imposing array or statistics, he urged that greater precautions be taken for the future to prevent the return of the disease-producing centres. Rev. W". P. Bunt, Superintendent of Missions, introduced a plan regarding War Savings certificates. In general he urged that every .support be- given to the purchase of these stamps and certificates. He further proposed a plan whereby people might work a double benefit through one purchase. The alui was to lend to the government and give to the work of the church. A burdensome deficit had been accumulated during the years depression arid it was planned to retire this by the assignment of the savings stamps and certificates. In general Presbytery approved the plan and appointed a committee consisting of Rev. Norah Hughes and R. Walker to co-operate with local committees in each church for the development and execution of the plan. Report on Missions In his report on the work of the various missions within the bounds of the Presbytery, Rev. JvCJacicson rjointed out ta'hglble signs' of pro gress. Extensive repair ana Duiia- ing operations had been carried on during the year. A new musion house had been built at Stewart. This was largely due to the ener getic leadership of Rev. W. R. B. Nixon who did much of the work and planning himself, being assist ed by volunteer helpers including other missionaries In the locality. At Kltlmaat Rev. Caldwell had been successful In renovating the Inside of the mission house with surprisingly good results while the Japan ese at Ocean Falls, under the dyn amic leadership of Rev. J. Kabay-ama, were successful In completing a fine addition to their church building. Extensive repairs were made to the property at Klspiox and Hazelton. Plans and requisi tions were made for further devel opments at various points, the most Important or wnicn caueu iut a new mission house at Skidegate and another at Bella Bella. Upon completion of his report, Mr. Jackson was congratulated upon the many fine Improvements made to the church property In Prince Rupert The report on the missionary and maintenance fund was given by Rev. E. S. Fleming of Ocean Falls. The vital Importance of the work covered by the fund was stressed and many difficulties were faced, The report showed practically the same amount raised throughout the Presbytery as last year, a sum well over $1200.
