Deplores Apaihy Towards War Effort At the regular monthly meeting of the Prince Rupert branch of the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League last evening considerable time was taken" up with the discussion of Canada's war effort. While unhesitatingly support ing every possible move to mobilize all Canada's resources, the members took advantage of the right to criticize the means, and lack of means which are being used ati present. There Is great dissatls- faction with the apparent apathy Of many of the general public in the'ir; attitude towards the war ef-; fort. J By Invitation, Norton Youngs, publicity manager for the 1941 Victory Loan campaign, spoke. The Legion endorsed the loan 100. per . cent and pledged all its resources towards making the campaign a complete success. It is felt that) the policy adopted by the national committee in handling the sale of the borjds is the most economical and efficient. Voluntary effort alone would be lacking in organiza tion and th detail required for a complete job. Reports of committees showed that needy veterans had been help ed. Men now serving In th forces were being assisted with expert advice on social problems. Comforts were being supplied to Invalids and also to men who are leaving for service elsewhere. Many letterj g acknowledgment from men .serving overseas were read. Assistance. was also accorded the graves committee of Queen Mary Chapter, Imperial Order, Daughters of the Empire, and the Navy League of Canada!' President H. A. Breen presided. KISS TIRED GOODBYE!
