She has evidently got over that now and we see only a country defending her right to govern herself in her own way. In that stand she is being backed up by the British Empire. There are still a great many people who would like to see Russia smashed by the Germans, each suffering equally. We cannot say that we agree with this view. Russia has a right to any kind of government she wishes as long as she does not try to force her views upon other countries. Perhaps her association with the British will be good for her and we shall both be better for that association. At any rate we seem destined to be allies for some time to come and we shall have to learn to understand each other better. If we have nothing else to learn from them we can learn how to fight effectively against a very powerful foe.
