EDUCATION DISCUSSED Inspector of Schools Interesting Speaker To Rotary Club Changes that had taken place In educational methods during th past five years formed the subject for a very interesting and in structive address yesterday before the Prince Rupert Rotary Club at its weekly luncheon by Alex Turn bull, inspector of schools for the Prince Rupert district. Close to forty members attended and the only visitor, apart from Mr. Turn- bull, was Colin MacKenzle ol Vancouver, x-ray expert. Most of these changes In edu eational methods made for pro gress, Mr. Turn bull said. Under the newer conception of education was stressed the Importance of citizenship, development of moral character, guidance and other subjects designed to develop modern democracy. The schools, he said, were taking a major part the word -wireless" in- of the war effort and, at the same "tireless" in referring to 'time, were trying to train young a machine which puts radio reception in the city out of commis sion somewhat spoiled the sense of a letter signed "Hopeful" in The Daily News yesterday. "Hopeful" had no Intention of reflecting on any particular "wireless" machine.
