Olof Hanson, IM.P. for Skeena, has suggested that, if the people are agreed that it is desirable to have a mail delivery in Prince Rupert and will make representations to the postal authorities at Ottawa requesting its institution, t will probably be forthcoming. In view of this hint on the part of Mr. Hanson, we would suggest that now is the time to ask for it. With the railway mail service to Prince Rupert extended and congestion at the postal delivery wickets here becoming chronic and most inconvenient, we can see very good reasons why the mail delivery system should be instituted. We are not very clear on the validity of any objections there may be to it. If people did.not have to wait so long at the wickets at the Post ' Of f ice,, there would be morp imejfpr shopping. P Thirteen Years at Ottawa . . . This is not meant as a political note. We are not writing it because Olof Hanson is a Liberal and' we are supposed to be. Let us hone, at least, that neither of us are hidebound. However, time passes sometimes faster .than a lot of us realize arid it has just occurred to us that the member for Skeena has just rounded out a dozen years of continuous service as our representative at Ot tawa, some time since qualifying as the longest in point of service of any member Skeena has had jn Canadian Parliament. Quiet and unassuming as he may be, Olof Hanson has these many years been regarded as one of the hardest working and most effective members at Ottawa. In the capital he is well and favorably known in all quarters, irrespective of political affiliation. He also has the con fidence and esteem of the people of his far-flung consti tuency those who support him politically as well as those who at times may not. So, when we speak appreciatively of those dozen years that Mr. Hanson has well and faithfully served us at Ottawa and express the hope that the are but the beginning of many more to come, we feel that we are but expressing the feelings of the many friends towards a plain, hard-working citizen in a rugged, pioneer And we didn't repeat the old story about the poor immigrant boy who walked in over the railway grade with his pack on his back and in thirty years rose to prominence and success, ftJw4ft,ft, If you lose anything, advertise for it. they have been Included by wayof Drecautlon In case It should be necessary to ration other commodities, Th Board has definitely 'stated that at this time It Is not contemplating the rationing of any other commodities, but In case of pmereenev It might have to move very quickly.
