X BRAVE MEN ! 1 r a qjttd ATT I: fftNrtTDTo i W The Real Democracy Some truth is leaking out of that little courtroom at lliom where the French war guilt trials are going on. Already one great truth has been thrown into the debate. In his defence, Former Premier Blum declared that it was deideerccy itself which was on trial. H- is right, but he is not entirely right. The democracy which is on trial is the floppy, selfish, narrow, ost rich-like, uncour-ageous argumentative democracy which there was in France of which there has been too much elsewhere. But there m another kind of growing stronger every day driving democracy of Cttiver Washington and hi? men at Valley Forge; of Carnot's fierce singing soldiers in France's revolutionary days; of Stalin's Red Array; and of the people of Britain who are not afraid to change their leaders and pick those who demand from them greater and greater sacrifice. That is the new kind of democracy, towards which, amid all the mess and confusion and defeats of these weeks and vears, we are slowlv moving. mocracy wnicn can peat me SERVICE BOWLING Irundlers si Various Forces Were in Actwn Over Week-End.
