Cross
campaign

be
held

has

appointed

chairman
with

E.
Parker

district
chairman,
the
duties
of
the
latter
to
be
more
especially
as
a
contact
between
the
national
and
local
organization
in
connection
with
the
campaign.
The
Red
Cross
drive
is
still
a
couple
of
months
off
but
we
would
urge
the
citizens
to
keep
it
in
mind
and
prepare
to
contribute
as
generously
as
possible
when
the
time
comes.
It
is
not
necessary
for
us
to
dwell
on
the
important
luncuons
tne
Ked
Lross
plays
throughout
the
world
par-
ticularly
in
time
of
war.
Probably,
also,
the
most
of
Prince
Rupert
people
are
aware
of
what
the
Red
Cross
is
already
preparing
to
do
to
help
Prince
Rupert
should
disaster
arise
here.
Prince
Rupert
has
every
reason
to
respond
in
a
big
way
to
the
Red
Cross
campaign.

The
Vancouver
Province
may
be
right
in
declaring
that
alarmist
propaganda
has
gone
much
too
far
in
that
area
and
that
an
unhealthy
state
of
mind
is
being
created
as
a.
result
of
imagination
running
riot
in
creating
sanguinary
fears
and
doubts
over
the
local
situation
in
regard
to
the
war.
Of
course,
Vancouver
is
in
a
different
position
than
Prince
Rupert
and
what
applies
there
might
not
apply
altogether
here.
It
would
appear
from
a
realistic
standpoint
that
Prince
Rupert
is
more
exposed
to
attack
than
Vancouver
and,
if
it
is
not
now,
may
be
before
long
an
even
more
desirable
target
for
the
enemy.
That
it
is
possible
for
the
enemy
to
come
here,
if
he
has
a
mind
to,
is,
of
course,
obvious.
"No
one
would
wish
to
lull
the
people
of
this
coast
into
a
false
sense
of
security,"
says
the
Province.
"No
one
would
wish
to
impair
in
any
degree
their
efforts
to
protect
themselves
or
their
property
against
possible
dangers.
But
let's
