According to Alex McRae. who with C. C. Mills is in charce of the boys selling tags, the money realized will be used to buv eaulo- ment for the local Sea Cadet unit. Raincoats for the boys are the prime requirement, in the light of a previous experience of the unl.t when they attended a rally during which they stood In front of the court house in the rain until everyone was soaked. Uniforms and band Instruments are other Items of expense. Rapid expansion of the Sea Cadets numbers, which in the past year have Increased to about 135 and by the end of the year Is expected to reach 200, cannot be accomplished without an Increase In available funds. Names of the boys who are selling tags today are: Robert Berth-elet, Bill Davidson, B. Nlcholl, Bob Mitchell, Ted Forman, J. Flaten, O. Rothwell, Bob Anderson, Paul Shannon, D. Larson, B1U Rothwell, S. Hemming, Bill Anderson, James Comer, Ben Fortune, E. Pierce, O. Mutch, R. McKay, H. King, J. Lad- icos, F. Clapp, R. At the moment we can see some disadvantages that CJ may accrue to Prince Rupert as a result of the order of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board requiring that 50 DPI rpnf nf PnnnfHnn lmliViif Vio fvn-ran fnf uon in Pnnnfln Thp nhioif Jc rf nnnvcfl tn fHvovf frnm ovnnrf f r f Vin United States, where the larire nronnrtinn of our halibut Vi n c Vaa 1 . .u. 1.-1 J I " lino UVCU gUUlg, IU HliM&CI, Ill Canada fish which may thus im prove the Canadian fish supply. At the same time, in pursuance of the government's determined antU inflation policy, a celline is nlaced on the price of the fish to be bought lor freezing and use in Canada. Whether or not the desired result will be accomplished without too much hardship being Imposed on any particular branches . of the Industry remains to be seen. There is, no doubt, that Canadian fishermen will be righteously Indignant at seeing, as accrued even yester day, the price of half of their fish pegged at a mark several cents be fore the prevailing 'fresh fish price. They will be Indignant even If the controlled ) pricH Hay ' be much higher iljajv they; have been receiving for-many years. As far as Prince Rupert is con cerned the port may lose some fish through necessity of sending It to other points on the coast where there are cold storage plants. The new regulations will' Involve considerable change in the way we have been handling our halibut here and, until they have been put into actual operation, it is a little difficult to measure lust what the effects will be. For the moment we can see the disadvantages as far as Prince Ru pert and her fleet are concerned outweighing the advantages and we can only hope that the new order will not be too harmful to us. We do not like to think that the authorities responsible for the making of the order have not given full consideration to all the angles and Satisfied themselves as to the advantage to be gained before the promulgation. Of course, anything havinir such an Jmpprtant bearing on the halibut fisheries as has this order Is of vital Interest and importance to Prince Rupert. Commenting on the order nf thn Wartime Prices and Trade Board, Col. J. w.
