TEM DAILY NTWI DRESS SHOW INTERESTING Novel Disnlav Presented by Girls of High School Home Economics Department Featuring a novel display of dresses fashioned and made toy the girls themselves, the home economics department of Booth Mem orial High School held its annual demonstration of handiwork in the auditorium of the school last Sat urday afternoon. There was a large attendance of Interested mothers and friends. A display of manual and Industrial arts was exhibited in the corridors and also evoked much favorable comment. Principal 'O'Neill opened the pro ceedings with remarks appropriate to the occasion and then Miss Ruby Anderson took over to act as mis tress of ceremonies. The stage scene opened on a setting depicting a ladies' wear shop with Miss Marie Boulter as the clerk in charge and the Misses Dorothy Mc- Leod and Olga Sather as lady cus- 1 tomers. In this way the parade of dresses, skirts and dresses was presented with the girls of the various classes wearing the dresses j which they themselves had made. The parade concluded with a novelty by Grade 7 girls of which wore aprons to depict the point values of meat ration coupons in a novel way, explanation being by song. Before the closing, Mr. O'Neill Introduced the two home economics instructresses, ..the Misses Alma Snyder and Elizabeth Young, both of whom spoke briefly. In the cburse of his remarks during the afternoon Mr. O'Neill mentioned how Rev. E. W. Scott had stepped Into the breach to assist with manual training Instruction when no teacher could be obtained. A musical program Included piano solos by Peggy Large and vocal solos by Miss Sally Sodeberg, accompanied by Miss Janet Miss Patricia McClymont presid ed at the piano' during the dress display and for the accompanying of "O Canada" and "God Save the King."
