Li-1 Headquarters Company Dance Three Hundred and Fifty Person Attended Fine Affair In Armory Saturday Night The armory was gaily decorated with red, white and blue entwined streamers, huge orange, balloons and flags and bunting and crowded with some 350 dancers when headquarters company held a dance Saturday night, the event being one of the most successful and enjoyable yet held by the unit. Dancing commenced shortly aftei 9 pjn. and was In full swing until 2 am. Fine music was furnished by Roy Proverbs and his orchestra and Sergeant Major J. Scanlon as master of ceremonies, kept things moving In effective manner. There were a number of novelty events Including brief floor show, spot dances and a Jitter bug contest which excited much Interest. The floor show Included Highland Fling dancing by Sergeant Mona Jewell of the Canadian Women's. Army Corps, accompanied by Piper James Robertson, both of whom were in full Highland regalia, and tap dancing by the ever popu lar Elsa Kraupner. First prizes In the Jitterbug contest were won by Miss Betty Johnson and Johnny Savage and second prizes by Edna Stroller and Frank Coffin.
