As the fishermen's organization is a marketing co-operative the membership is limited to fishermen and em ployees. With the expansion of the store business there has been a desire on the part of many patrons for membership. This will now be accomplished as the consumer cooperative membership is voluntary and open to all. The new co-op will be known as the Kalen Consumers' Co-operative Association, a charter for which was granted this week. 'Canada, recording the appoint ment ot u. w. Nicicerson to the International Fisheries Commission, describes Prince Rupert without question as "British Columbia's most important halibut centre." Meanwhile Vancouver Interests still persist in endeavouring to make out that Vancouver is now the British Columbia coajtal halibut centre which contention, of course, the facts of the case belle.
